Some information about the keyscan circuit used in the Oberheim Matrix 6

I was recently helping someone troubleshoot a problem with a Matrix 6 keyboard. We traced the issue to the keyscan circuit. Since there doesn't seem to be any information on the web about how this circuit operates, I decided to take a stab at explaining it. Here is the result.
